LONGSHORE EX290 - Expedition Packraft

LONGSHORE EX290 - Expedition Packraft

One or two person packraft

The Expedition series packraft is our best selling and most versatile raft. It is ideal for river, estuary or coastal cruising and could be used for fishing or as a tender to a boat. It can be paddled by either one or two people and as our longest packraft, it is the fastest and easiest to paddle in our range.

It can be rolled into a compact package that is easily carried in a backpack, along with other camping kit and can be inflated in around 3 minutes using the Inflation Bag.

These tough packrafts have been all over the world including remote expeditions across Patagonia, Canada and Sierra Leone.

The new EX290 design builds on the functionality of the previous EX280, with added refinements that have been carefully thought out during hours of paddling and testing. The result is a more comfortable and versatile design that is completely unique to Longshore - it cannot be bought anywhere else.

We’ve added a new teardrop stern which increases buoyancy and reduces yaw, extended the length slightly, which gives more space for both front and rear paddlers, added comfortable block seats to spread the paddlers weight and added fixings at both the front and rear positions which allow the addition of adjustable kayak style backbands.

It comes as standard with an inflatable backrest for the rear paddler and one kayak style backband (a separate backband can be purchased separately here). Multiple webbing tie down points at the stern and bow allow for gear (or a bike) to be strapped to the packraft. A Boston one-way valve allows rapid inflation and top on the move.

All seams are stitched and then heat welded with tape making them extremely robust. The floor is constructed from a highly puncture-resistant 840D urethane double-coated nylon. The tubes are constructed of 210D nylon double-coated with urethane (inside and out), however we can offer it with tubes constructed of 210D nylon single-coated with urethane (just on the outside) which gives an approx weight saving of 600 grams.

Unsure what this means or why it matters - visit our Packraft Features page for an explanation.
